The September event, "Getting Started in SPI (Software Process Improvement)" saw a sold-out audience of nearly 100 people. A lively Q&A session followed each of the 5 presenters: Lousie Hawthorne (Process Inc), Ray Carbonneau (Thomson-CSF), Chandan Banerjee (Newbridge), Bill Samulack (Canadian Marconi), and Lindy Abry (SHL Systemhouse).
Although targeted at an audience of 80, there was enough room flexibility to comfortably accomodate the additional registrations. As with the June Event, more than 50 different companies were represented, again representing a cross-section of practitioner and management levels. Feeback from the audience indicated that the session was very valuable.
The introduction to SPI was provided through an active panel series mixing theory & experience, with "how to" results from local hi tech firms that illustrated how they tackled the key issues presented. Slides of the presentations are being put up on the SPIN web server -- several are available now at : http://www.ocri.ca/spin
