November 18, 1999 Software Process Improvement Audit and Assessment Methodologies When it comes to software process improvement methodologies, there are a number of buzzwords, such as CMM, SPICE, Bootstrap, ISO, but what do they all mean, and which one is best to assess your software maturity? The Ottawa SPIN is pleased to announce a presentation on Audit and Assessment Methodologies by Michael Raftus. Mr. Raftus is a Partner and Managing Director at GRafP Technologies Inc. as well as a collaborator at the Applied Software Engineering Centre. Mr. Raftus acts as a transfer agent in process improvement by providing CMM instruction, by assessing organizations involved in software development and maintenance using the CMM Based Appraisal for Internal Process Improvement (CBA IPI) approach, by assessing process related risks in small and medium organizations and by helping assessed organizations develop action plans to jump-start their process improvement programs. He is an authorized SEI instructor. GRafP Technologies has conducted over 60 assessments in private industry and in the public sector. The presentation will focus on the following models:
