Organizational Maturity - How does Canada compare with other countries?
Abstract:
The presentation will discuss progress made by software and systems development organizations within Canada compared to those in other countries. The presenters will discuss real-life issues on how successful companies are working toward more modern development and organizational business practices to become more effective and bring better value to their customers.
Discussion
will cover practices contained in the Software Engineering Institute's (SEI)
Software Capability Maturity Model (SW-CMM), which has been in use for more
than a decade. The presentation will also address the SEI's new Capability
Maturity Model - Integrated (CMMI) - with systems engineering and integrated
process and product
development (more commonly known as concurrent engineering and Integrated
project teams). Focus will be on recent developments within Canada versus
other countries such as the United States and those in the European Union.
