Introduction to SEI's Integrated CMM for Software/Systems Engineering

DATE: November 23, 2000

PLACE: Rideau Room, Sheraton Hotel, 150 Albert Street

SPEAKER: David Constant, Partner, Process Inc.

The recently released CMMI-SE/SWSM Version 1.0 is an integrated model for systems engineering and software engineering improvement and is intended to replace the current SW-CMM* in 3 years. Version 1.0 is designed for use by product-development organizations that wish to improve their engineering and project-management processes. The current model provides both staged and continuous representations for software and systems engineering, and will be complemented in future by an Integrated Product Development component. The CMMI product suite will consist of models, training materials and an assessment method.

This presentation will provide an overview of the CMMI and discuss differences from the SW-CMM. * Capability Maturity Model and CMM are registered in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. (sm) CMMI is a service mark of Carnegie Mellon University.
